November 2017 - Susan Schwake

The Rochester Public Library is pleased to host an exhibit by local artist, educator and curator, Susan Schwake through November.

Schwake’s passion for teaching art has found her working in diverse settings for more than 20 years. She created permanent exhibitions of children’s art, involving hundreds of children at the Rochester Public Library and the Portsmouth Community Campus, bringing staff, families and clients closely together through the art-making process. Thousands of people have been inspired through residencies she has conducted at her artstream studio and other settings. She has recently taken her classroom online with a new series of e0courses geared for beginners, teachers and seasoned artists. Her latest book, Art Camp, features 52 projects for kids to make on their own and follows the release of her first three books in the bestselling Art Lab for Kids series, which have been translated into seven languages. She exhibits her work in the U.S. and abroad. She has curated over 100 contemporary exhibitions at artstream studio and provides consulting services for corporate clients.
