August 2015 - Bob Farrell
The Rochester Public Library is pleased to host an exhibit by Berwick artist, Bob Farrell, on the first floor of the Library through the month of August.
A theme of Farrell’s recent work is discovering the art in found objects. He says discarded objects or junk, stimulate him to be creative. A 17 inch by 7 foot lighted piece composed of word search puzzles is a featured work in the exhibit. Many other equally creative and stimulating pieces comprise the large body of work on display, and include painting, mixed media and sculpture.
Farrell trained in Watertown, NY and at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has been involved in art for most of his life working in various media including painting, graphic design, architectural restoration, photography and sculpture. He says Dali was an important influence in his early work in abstracts and surreal art. These early influences can still be seen in many of the pieces in the Library Exhibit.
Farrell is a member of the Berwick Art Association, MODspoke, Wrong Brain and Blackbird Studio & Gallery. View his work on www.bobfarrellsart.weebly.com or at 1-bob-farrell.fineartamerica.com.
An opening will be held on the first floor of the Library on August 13 from 6-8 pm. Call the Library for more information 603-332-1428.
